Active Policy Solutions provides government relations and advocacy support to clients, specializing in sports, health, wellness, education, youth development and civil rights policy.

Our team members have extensive experience in policy and government affairs work on the state and national level. We have Capitol Hill, non-profit, and business experience. We have a proven track record of advancing federal and state legislation, securing government relationships to advance our client’s goals, and planning and executing large Capitol Hill advocacy days. Client: National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS)
The National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) represents more than 200 organizations and corporations that serve over 60 million boys and girls registered in organized youth sports programs. Active Policy Solutions serves as the voice of NCYS on Capitol Hill to advance policies and initiatives on behalf of the youth sports industry and coordinates NCYS’s annual Youth Sports Expo in the Capitol.

Client:  Outdoor Afro
Outdoor Afro is the nation’s leading, cutting edge network that celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature.  Outdoor Afro is a national non-profit organization with leadership networks around the country. With nearly 80 leaders in 30 states from around the country, they connect thousands of people to outdoor experiences, who are changing the face of conservation.  APS works tirelessly to keep the OA network informed on outdoor and conservation policy as well as raising the profile of Outdoor Afro amongst Congressional leaders.

Client:  Promoting Local and Youth (PLAY) Sports Coalition
PLAY Sports, which stands for Promoting Local and Youth Sports, is a unique coalition of over 3,500 community and national sports organizations and leaders formed to support young athletes, working families, coaches and volunteers across all 50 states, particularly those in underserved areas, through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.  Active Policy Solutions is driving the government affairs effort for the PLAY Sports Coalition to ensure youth sports organizations and families have the resources they need for youth sports to continue.

Client: Student Affairs in Higher Education Consortium (SAHEC)
SAHEC is a consortium of executive leadership from Associations representing professionals in various student affairs roles on college and university campuses, including on-campus housing, student conduct, recreation and wellness, and many areas in between.  APS supports the coalition by ensuring Congress is educated about the important needs of the student affairs community and that the consortium remains up to date on key legislative developments and news that impacts the operation of higher education institutions so that they may better serve their students.

Client:  Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)
AHEAD is the leading professional membership association for individuals committed to equity for persons with disabilities in higher education.  AHEAD’s membership includes disability resource professionals, student affairs personnel, ADA coordinators, diversity officers, AT/IT staff, faculty and other instructional personnel, and colleagues who are invested in creating welcoming higher education experiences for disabled individuals.  AHEAD boasts a membership of over 4,000, representing all 50 states and over 10 countries.   APS was instrumental in helping preserve the funding for the National Center for College Students with Disabilities, which is home-based in AHEAD.
